Al,
Hope to see you there.
I also would like to mention that Steve (stevefromcpr) is helping and that the CPR site is involved in this.

Am sorry Steve,
Hope to see you there, have lots of two liter stuff that you may be interested in.
Have had the job loss/rehire blues/mid life crisies experience. Am a very lucky and gratefull person that I found employment the way I was fortunate to experience.
The only thing that will prevent my attending is if I'm asked to work the day of the event, can't help that. As I'm the "NFG" , ( new ******* guy ), I will be pretty much obliged to go to work.
Hope that dosen't happen ! ! !
Anyway my thanx to you for your efforts.

There is a 30% chance of rain for Sat, 0% on Sun.
Will update as needed, but is Sunday a good rain date?

Due to the strong chance for rain on Saturday, I am working on changing this event to Sunday the 13th. If I can do this, and I should be able to, it will be for the same time (4pm to ??).
I will keep this thread updated if things change, and I will do my best to give everyone as much notice as I can.
Please post if you can or can't make it.
THANK YOU, Bill

Still not sure on the rain, but we can do either day. I will check the forecast in the morning and decide as soon as I can to keep it Sat or change to Sunday.
Feel free to drop me a PM and I will give out my cell number.

Am posting this 42 minutes into Saturday. Just got off work and the rain came down in buckets on the shoreline.
Will not be working this weekend on the clock. Even a favor job is off I think.
Today may be iffy but am not sure about Sunday either, perhaps may be a better day ?
Can probably do today or tomorrow.

We are switching to Sunday for this event.
I waited as long as I could to make the call, and wish I did not have to, but tomorrow (Sunday) will be a much nicer day. This helps some people to be able to attend, but it might keep others from getting there due to other commitments. I'm between a rock and a hard place with this, because if we keep it today and it happens to be raining there might be some that decide not to come out at the last moment.
Please email me or PM if you would like my cell number. Also, please at least have the pizza place number with you (see the link in the thread).
Thank you, and I hope to see you there.

The weather was much better for the event today, but the switch did limit our attendace. We had 4 Pintos with two other ctpintobobcat members without Pintos.
Connie and I got there early to help block off a few spots so the cars could be together. Shari and Bill (PepsThePinto) soon arrived, then Al (BP.AL), Chris (CPC69), followed by Steve and Diane (SteveFromCPR).
It was great to see everyone again, and great to meet Shari and Bill. I had talked with Sheri last weekend and let her know about this event. I hope we made a good impression.
Shari and Bill met a couple with a Maverick earlier in the day and invited them to stop in; they did. I think his name was Chris, but I did not get the chance to talk with his better half so I don't know what her name is. They had a very nice car, and we hope to see them again.
We had a few passers-by stop and say hi, and one even knew some history on Connie's car that we did not know. This was great because the story behind that car is almost as kool as the car itself.
Connie and I would like to thank all those that were able to attend, and we were sorry that others could not make it. This will not be the last event like this in CT, we will see you all at the next one!
We would like to thank Greg at HartFord Rd Pizza again for letting us make the parking lot filthy with Pintos, and for the great pizza.
Also, I would like to thank Steve and Diane for the support from the CPR site. Its great that we can work together on things like this.
I will work on getting my photos up soon.
Thanks again, Bill and Connie

We are so happy that we were able to attend--even getting there as late as we did. It was a great thrill to be in the company of others who have the same special appreciation for our little cars.
Thanks Bill and Connie for all the work you did to make it happen. Your cars were looking great--talk about a couple of eye-catchers!
Thanks Bill also for going the extra mile to make contact with Shari--it was a real pleasure meeting her, after having admired her super-nice '71 at that Essex cruise night back in July.
Wow, Chris' *bike* is super kool--and what a great evening for a ride--good for you Chris.
A great pleasure meeting Al too--I am so impressed with your knowledge and enthusiasm--I hope your job situation continues along smoothly, and pretty soon you won't be the "NFG"!
I'm happy to report that Diane's '73 Squire didn't miss a beat the whole way home, and it's safely sitting under its car cover once again as we speak.
In closing, we would like to thank all the work that Bill and Connie did to make this special gathering a reality. Also looking forward to spending some time with my pictures, and getting perhaps a little feature together for the CPR page--will post a heads up when I have something together worth viewing.
Keep On Pinto-ing!

Hat's off to Bill & Connie and Steve & Diane !
Am glad I made it up. Perhaps I will get off my duff this winter and get my Runabout back on the road, sure will try. Now that fireworks season is almost over I sure will have the time.
Was happy to finaly meet Steve and Diane, they still have my Pintos listed on their site from 2004. Their wagon looks great, was happy to see my beloved two liters in action, although I'll most likely have a turbo 2.3 in my Sedan someday. Maybe I'll be able to keep up with Bill and Connie.
Planet Pinto just seems to be getting bigger. I saw just a glimpse of Shari & Bills Sedan the other day when I came home from the grocery store. Imagine how surprised I was to learn that they live almost directly across the Niantic river from me.
It's like fate is a big magnet, were just all attracted together !
Hope to be at another event like this one with my ride, it sure was fun to see all the eyes poppin' & jaws droppin' again.

Let's see if a couple of photos work here: My caption for the second one, from the AACA Photo Forum, where I originally posted these: <<"...Yup, there's a Maverick in there too--he was "a real Maverick" showing up to a Pinto meet like that--heh, heh...">> (boy, do I amuse myself sometimes) Hey Al, I didn't realize those were *your cars* on the CPR page from '04! Whaddya know! Doubly nice meeting you!!

What do typical Connecticut Pinto drivers look like? "Don't hate us because we're beautiful!" (w/apologies to the Pantene shampoo company)

Hey Pinto People!
It was great to meet you all. Bill and I had a blast. We're highly impressed with the level of Pinto knowledge. I'm glad to know there's others out there that share my interest.
Peps (the name I gave my '71 pinto) made it home ok. Her steering wheel does tend to shake at high speeds which makes for an uncomfortable drive. So I brought her into the local car shop where Bill has occasionally brought his old cars. The owner is an older man who has been around the block and has seen alot of cars. The whole time I was there talking to him he couldn't stop smiling! He was reliving the past when he worked on Pintos every day. Of course I told him how the Pinto groupies found me and how we had a great Pinto meet.
By the way - if I'm able to talk a bit non-pinto - if you look at my pinto photos on Steves page you will see some of hubby Bill's '57 Buick parked next to it, which won a trophy that night.
So thanks for finding me. I look forward to more Pinto chat and meets.
Shari and Peps

Shari,
It was nice meeting you and Bill (and Peps).
After you told me about Bills car I went back and looked at the photos again. I like Buicks and that is a nece one; hope to see it in person one day.
We have had trouble with the later alum. wheels tossing off the wheel weights (when the shop uses the wrong ones). I hope thats all it is and they get Peps smooth again.
